The mine lies 134 km
(84 miles) from Banff National park,
in BC’s Rocky mountains.
Travel time from Calgary is 2 hours. Across the Toby Creek valley from the
Parridice is the prestigious Panorama ski resort which is accessed by paved
road from Invermere, BC. The web site
www.panoramaresort.com provides photos of the area, access maps, travel
times, etc. Follow the link "Paradise Mine Map" for a regional map.
The route from the
valley bottom to the Paradise is unpaved, following the original mine access
road up Springer Creek. With every switch back on the road the scenery
becomes more spectacular. Just before reaching the mine the road passes by a
wonderful sub-alpine waterfall surrounded by a stately forest. Closer to
the lots the towering rock palisade on the south side of the Springs Creek
valley come into view.
The property has been
divided into five large parcels which vary in aspect. Some are partially
forested on sloping terrain, others occupy portions of the magical alpine
meadow at the head waters of Springs Cr. Here the creek bubbles along its
rocky course in an alpine bowl flanked by meadows and scattered trees. Views to the
surrounding ridges and mountain peaks are spectacular. The mining operation,
which terminated over 50 years ago, has left a legacy of artifacts and cabin
foundations. Follow the link to "Paradise Parcels" for a list of the
parcels.
Some parcels include
the higher ground above tree line. Here the views to the surrounding peaks
and mountain ranges are spectacular. Mount
Nelson, Watch
Peak, Mount
Bruce and the Panorama ski resort
grace the scene, depending on the parcel. To the east on a clear day the
mountains across the Rocky Mountain Trench can be seen.

Wildlife is abundant.
Majestic deer inhabit the area in summer along with mountain marmots and
other species.

The properties are
ideal for adventurers who wish to prospect the area for hidden mineral
wealth, operating from camp sites that can be established in this alpine
wonderland.
A satellite image of
the area can be found by entering “Panorama, BC” on Google Earth. Springs
creek is the valley seen just north of Panorama, extending to the left or
west. A wealth of information on the area can be obtained by searching on
Google using “Paradise Mine” BC. Some of the more interesting sites are
www.tobycreekadventures.com and the BC Government MINFILE site.
These lots in each
parcel are Crown Grants. For a description of the rights conveyed by a Crown
